Oops!So if you want to read for yourself what Byron thought, go here and check it out.The money quote: "If you like your comics action clever, tough and back-alley, the world of Jack Hammer is for you." It's official: Reasonably Priced Comics #3 is out July 27th.
If you've been living in a cave, Reasonably Priced Comics is our quarterly anthology spanning the range of comic genres. Basically, it's got something for everyone!
In issue three we present:
VOYAGA, part III - "Identity" by Brandon Barrows and Ionic. Dean Kirkland thought he was alone in the savage, decaying hulk of the world of the 31st century, but when he finds other humans will it turn out to be a blessing or a curse?
KIDTHULHU - "Fetch" by Martin Brandt II & Jason Stephens. Everyone's favorite adorable Elder Horror comes to the pages of Reasonably Priced Comics! All Kid wants to do is spend some quality time with his pet, but does anything ever work out the way its planned?
WESTERN ADDITION - "Dinner Guests" by Brandon Barrows and Leandro Panganiban. A preview of an all-new western series! Guests can be a pain when they're invited, but barging in at dinner time is just so rude!
All this and an incredible WESTERN ADDITION cover by Ionic!
B&W interior, 24 pages, $2.50
Happy Fourth of July weekend for those of our fellows in the states! It's a beautiful day here in the northeast and we hope it's a beautiful day where you are, as well. If you're in the Los Angeles area, go visit Chu Wei at the Anime Expo down at the LA Convention Center and wish her a happy fourth in person! We also just added a bunch of new creator appearances (featuring some new-to-RPC creators!) on the Events & Appearances page. Check 'em out, see if there's one near you, then stop by and say hi!
Yessiree, two updates in one day! We've got that much to say! This weekend, July 1st through 4th, if you're in the Los Angeles area go see Chuwei the writer/artist behind "My Girlfriend Is A Gamer" from the first issue of RPC. She'll have copies of Reasonably Priced Comics #1 as well as merchandise related to her strip Four The Win and she'll be doing sketches. Tell her we said hi! We've also added some additional events for other creators and hope to be adding more soon as the summer convention season heats up, so check back frequently!
The first reviews of JACK HAMMER: POLITICAL SCIENCE #3 are in! First, Michael Roberts's review over at his pop culture blog. Check out what he had to say for yourself athttp://mwr.me/2011/06/28/comic-book-review-jack-hammer-issue-3/. Michael is a Jack Hammer fan and a friend to us from the very beginning and we appreciate his kind words! Geoff Arbuckle, over at A Comic Book Blog, gave the book "85% out of 100" and you can read his thoughts here http://acomicbookblog.com/2011/06/jack-hammer-political-science-3-review/. The money quote from Geoff:"I’ve liked this series from the start. Writer Brandon Barrows added the right amounts of intrigue with some nice thrills. I legitimately care that the good guys get to the bottom of this issue. I am legitimately invested to see how this ends. It’s no small thing to do this in an indie comic." Thanks a ton, Geoff! Brandon and Ionic have worked very hard on this series and we're all excited to read the conclusion later this summer! And don't forget, you can get your own copy of JACK HAMMER: POLITICAL SCIENCE #3 tomorrow, either in our online store or in select comic shops!
It's almost here! Jack Hammer: Political Science #3, by Brandon Barrows and Ionic, is out June 29th!
We know you've been waiting eagerly and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your patience. We've gotten a number of letters since issue two came out and we want you all to know how much we appreciate it. We've picked a few of those letters and issue three will have our first ever letters page with your thoughts/questions/comments and Brandon's answers.
In issue three: Jack has a pretty good idea of what's going on, but still no "why" to make things worse, there's the added complication of Kara Newman's kidnapping. When he finally confronts the puppeteer, will Jack find the answers or just new questions?
Check out the amazing cover, featuring Night, by Ionic!
Jack Hammer: Political Science #3 is out June 29th and will be available in our online store and select comic retailers!
Hi, everybody, just a short update today. Submissions have been closed for our new sci-fi anthology SCIENCE! We have five great stories, totaling nearly fifty pages, of science fiction that we are very pleased with. We're tentatively scheduling the book for an August release, but we'll firm that up shortly. If you'd like to submit a short story to us, we're always looking at submissions for our regular anthology so feel free to check out the submissions page and send us your best stuff. A new review of JACK HAMMER: POLITICAL SCIENCE #1 by a reader who just discovered us was recently published, as well. You can check out what John Lees had to say about the book for yourself by going here. From the sound of things, though, it seems like he's a new fan! Thank you for the kind words, John and we're happy you enjoyed the book.
Quick update folks, since it's been awhile! First, if you haven't seen it, we have prints available of Ionic's beautiful painting of Dean Kirkland (hero of VOYAGA) exploring the jungle of the 31st century that appeared on the cover of Reasonably Priced Comics #2. We've had a few people asking if we'd be offering prints so we figured we'd give the people what they want! You can find the print by following the link to our store or go directly to it here.
Next up, a sneak peak of Ionic's newest painting! The cover for Reasonably Priced Comics #3 is below! RPC#3 features the first installment of WESTERN ADDITION, Brandon Barrows's (writer of JACK HAMMER and VOYAGA) new western series with artist Leandro Paganiban (ANIMAL CONTROL: SCU, DEAD FUTURE). You'll agree he's outdone himself once again! Finally, we are still looking for a few submissions for our sci-fi anthology SCIENCE! If you're looking to have some of your work published and have a story you think fits what we're looking for, please send it over! We're always happy to look at submissions for Reasonably Priced Comics, as well so please check out our submissions page for details or here to check out the guidelines for SCIENCE!
