Folks were getting all excited watching the Oscars last night, but not us. No time! (Or interest, but I digress.) It's an exciting week for us, as we're sending Reasonably Priced Comics #2 to the printers this week.

RPC #2 features the second installment of VOYAGA by Brandon Barrows (writer of our critically-acclaimed and award-nominated series JACK HAMMER) and new series artist Ionic (artist on JACK HAMMER and cover artist for all our publications to date); MY WAY, a sci-fi story about alien gangsters and the pay day of a lifetime by Alex De-Gruchy and Robert Durham (writer/artist of several CAVEWOMAN one-shots, among other things); and THE COMMUNICATORS, a decades and generation-spanning slice-of-life with a twist story by newcomers Michael E. Nichols and Joshua Calloway. We're very pleased with the issue and we know you will be, too! The scheduled release date is April 6th, so check back here for availability or ask your local comic shop to order it for you.

We're also working on RPC #3, which features the third installment of VOYAGA; a brand new KIDTHULHU short by RPC alumnus Martin Brandt (DEAD FUTURE, STITCHWORK) and Jason Stephens; and a brand new series set in the post-Civil War American West called WESTERN ADDITION by Brandon Barrows and artist Leandro Paganiban (ANIMAL CONTROL: SPECIAL CREATURES UNIT). Right now, we're looking at a mid-to-late June release but we'll keep you updated when we've set the final date.

We're also beginning to put together RPC #4. So far, it contains the fourth installment of VOYAGA, closing out book one, but we're still looking at submissions to fill out the rest of the issue. We've gotten several great submission pieces in the last couple weeks, but don't hesitate to send yours in if you've got a story you'd like us to consider. Please refer to the submissions page for details on how.

Have a great week folks! We will be!

Dwayne McDuffie, groundbreaking comic book writer and scribe of some of the best animation works of the last decade, has passed away today. His death comes far, far too early and he will be sorely missed.

Whether you realize it or not, virtually every reader of the Big Two has read something he wrote or enjoyed a character he created. And if not, you've probably seen some of the animated programs he's worked on such as Static Shock or Ben 10: Alien Force.

He was a giant in his chosen fields, and he won't be forgotten.

We here at Reasonably Priced Comics offer our sincerest and most heartfelt condolences to Dwayne's family and friends.

Rest in peace, Mr. McDuffie. We hope you can continue doing what you love where ever you are.

Hey, folks. Quick update here.

Brandon Barrows, writer of JACK HAMMER and VOYAGA, has been busy lately and folks have been noticing! He did a couple interviews recently, answering some questions for folks about his current work and spilling a little news about some upcoming projects (some for us, some with our esteemed colleagues at other publishers).

Check 'em out for yourself; it's some interesting reading.

Over at Cosmic Book News with their managing editor, Byron Brewer http://comics.cosmicbooknews.com/content/brandon-barrows-interview

At Kitty's Pryde with their editor John Withers http://www.kittyspryde.com/?p=9737

Two more reviews of the new issue of JH came in recently.

Next, John Withers reviewed the book over at Kitty's Pryde. According to John it "delivers the goods". We're glad you liked it, John! You can see what else John had to say here http://www.kittyspryde.com/?p=8806

And don't forget, Jack Hammer: Political Science #2 is available 2/9/11 online through our store and in select comic shops!
